About
Come join us once a week to learn the fundamentals of working with clay. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced potter, all levels are welcome. Class size stays small so you will receive more one-on-one instruction. We will find your personal unique style for all the wheel-throwing steps. This in addition to the smaller class size usually allows you to understand and quickly become a successful potter. Discover all the fun and creative ways to work with clay such as slab work, wheel throwing, molds, and hand building. We will highlight a new clay or glaze technique each month, such as marble clay, transfers, bubble, and shaving cream. I supply all the basic and specialized tools including pottery aprons in the monthly tuition except for clay which you can purchase from me or on your own. This is perfect for the beginner who might not know what they need. The class will be taught in a private studio with up to 4 students. There is space for 3 weekly potters and the last wheel is for make-up and student guests. Tuition is $160 a month for a 4 week class. For any additional days, it is $40 per class. The initial cost of $320 pays for your first and last month's class. Students are to participate in the scheduled time given to them. *Make-up classes will be done when there is an open slot available. *Weekly classes require a 2-month minimum commitment and a 30-day notice. This will allow time for instruction and completion of all projects. Also, this is a small studio. I purchase supplies and equipment based on attendance in advance. After receiving your notice of cancellation you will be charged for the last month of class even if you do not attend. This was paid when signing up for the class. Please see the makeup options for classes missed. For holidays or missed days due to the teacher's schedule, there will not be a fee charged. *Clay is an additional $24 per bag per student when needed.
